Why go whitewater rafting on the American River?

People take river trips for a number of reasons. Some of which are: escape, camaraderie, family or group bonding, excitement, relaxation, exercise, team building... and the list goes on. It is our goal that our customers have fun on our trips and leave with their expectations exceeded.

California Rafting Season

Spring rafters getting ready to get wet! The California Rafting season typically begins in April and concludes in October. The Spring months provide uncrowded rivers, higher flows from rain and snow melt, and incredible scenery with green hills and lots of wildflowers surrounding the river canyons. We recommend either The North Fork or South Fork American at this time.

During Summer, the temperatures rise and rafting is at it's best. The North Fork American season ends, and now it's time for The Middle Fork and South Fork American Rivers. Families really enjoy rafting during these months.

As the summer season winds down and Autumn nears, the river again becomes less crowded, yet the dam controlled flows remain. Fishing for wild trout is best during these months, and the fall colors really start to glow.

Please call us if you need help deciding which time of year is best for you.
